Quasar: A Symbol of Energy and Transformation

4500$ Sergey Kozhukhovsky Quasar 90×90 cm, upcycling, assemblage (author’s technique) Materials: reclaimed laminate, decommissioned printer parts, electronic boards, wires, metal, 2021 A quasar is a class of astronomical objects among the brightest in the universe. Located at vast distances—ranging from billions to tens of billions of light-years—they allow us to peer into the past and understand the evolution of the cosmos. These objects emit an enormous amount of energy, influencing star formation and chemical processes in galaxies. Just as quasars transform the space around them, the art in this exhibition turns unwanted objects into new meanings. While the accumulation of old satellites and debris in space threatens the future of humanity, forgotten objects on Earth pose a danger to our ecosystems. But what if we learn to repurpose them? The Quasar exhibition is an artistic metaphor for turning chaos into order, the useless into the valuable, and discarded materials into art.
