Ecology of Space

An art project by the “Osoznannost” (Awareness) collective Presented at the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics (Kaluga, Russia) About the Project Ecology of Space is a visual series exploring the idea of a sustainable future through cosmic imagery built from materials that have lost their original function. It is a meditation on the trace of civilization, the aesthetics of exhaustion, and the search for the eternal within the discarded. The project was created by artists Sergey Kozhukhovsky and Elizaveta Kozyr, members of the “Osoznannost” (Awareness) art group — a collective working at the intersection of contemporary art, ecology, and technological reflection. The works are executed in the authors’ upcycling technique, based on the use of waste: industrial components, digital debris, and unwanted construction materials. Each piece is not only a sculptural object but a living system of symbols pointing simultaneously to the past and the future.
